George O. Dix entered the practice of law with the firm he founded in 1898. Today that firm is known as Wilkinson, Goeller, Modesitt, Wilkinson & Drummy. Mr. Dix believed that trial skills and experience prepared a lawyer with the tools to provide advice to his clients in all areas of practice. That remains our firm’s philosophy today.

We are one of the largest firms in West Central Indiana. Our practice is diverse and includes trial work, with emphasis on civil defense litigation, real estate and title insurance, commercial and probate law, health and hospital law, employment and federal discrimination, civil rights, local government, and creditor’s rights.

Our clientele is diverse. We service businesses, corporations, healthcare providers, governmental entities, families and individuals.

We believe that the efficiency created by prompt digital information retrieval are a key part of excellent client service. We combine the technology of Westlaw, computer-assisted legal research and digital document storage with a firm-wide computer network.

The attorneys of Wilkinson, Goeller, Modesitt, Wilkinson & Drummy, LLP practice in a variety of business-related fields, as well as in personal financial and estate planning. The firm recognizes this work as more than execution of instructions or preparation of documents. Bankruptcy and creditors’ rights
The firm represents both secured and unsecured lenders whose claims are jeopardized by borrower insolvency. This includes foreclosure of mortgages, mechanic’s liens, collection of commercial debt and proceedings to recover collateral. We also serve the needs of clients whose business or personal finances require a workout, reorganization or bankruptcy. The firm is current on changes in Chapter 7,11 and 13 proceedings and the latest developments in exemption planning. We also represent individual debtors.

Family law
An expanding practice provides individual clients with assistance in a variety of family-related legal matters, including dissolution of marriage, child custody/support, visitation, paternity actions, adoptions, guardianships, and pre- and post-nuptial agreements.

Government
The firm has been engaged to assist governmental entities in a variety of tasks, including creation of personnel manuals, management of litigation, personnel matters and general representation on matters involving governmental administration at the local level. The firm also regularly represents clients who require assistance in addressing matters to local, state or federal government officials.

Health care law
Regular counsel is provided to hospitals, physicians and physician groups, affiliated health-care organizations, and peer review organizations. We help our clients navigate the complex and highly regulated area of health law, including state and federal statutory/regulatory requirements. Several lawyers in the firm regularly defend hospitals, physicians and other health care providers in medical malpractice litigation.

Litigation and arbitration
Wilkinson Law has an experienced litigation team with years of jury trial experience. The firm also has attorneys registered as mediators by the Indiana Supreme Court. That work includes convening parties to explore means of settling disputes without resort to time-consuming and expensive trials. Attorneys also have participated as arbitrators in disputes where alternative processes are mandated by various contracts or by agreements of parties.

Real estate
The firm is an agent for Chicago Title Insurance Co. and conducts extensive work in abstract examination, title insurance, document preparation and real estate closings. Our attorneys provide counsel on subdivision ordinances, associations and tax abatement. Financial institutions, business clients and individual clients have engaged the firm for assistance in buying/selling real estate.  We represent a variety of clients, from individuals to financial institutions and corporations in real estate matters.  The scope of work we provide covers an extremely broad range, from the purchase of a new residence to the financing of a multi-million dollar commercial project.  We represent a variety of clients, from individuals to financial institutions and corporations in real estate matters.  The scope of work we provide covers an extremely broad range, from the purchases of homes and farms to the acquisition and financing of a multi-million dollar commercial projects.  Our attorneys work closely with clients in the negotiation and closing of real estate transactions, joint ventures, sales, leases, and bond and note transactions, as well as in the preparation of all documents required in connection with such transactions.  We are also involved in other aspects of real estate practice, including title examination, title insurance, opinion letters, and zoning issues, mortgage foreclosures, leasing (residential and commercial), landlord and tenant matters, construction contract disputes, mechanic’s liens, tax abatements and virtually every other aspect of real property law.
